Job Description

Lead the crew by example and set the pace
Teach job knowledge and skills to others
Enforce safety rules and regulations on and off job site
Take initiative and delegate tasks to increase productivity
Maintain professionalism at all times
Ensure that the company truck is operable and properly maintained
Trained in the use and maintenance of laser screeds
Install formwork and place & finish concrete to build footings, floors, walls, columns, beams and sidewalks.
Read and interpret plans and drawings as they pertain to concrete work
Lay out work using string lines, chalk lines, tapes and levels
Excavate footings by machine and by shovel
Grade the base material as needed, install moisture barrier and wire mesh
Place rebar and post-tensioning systems
Finish concrete as specified, such as steel trowel finish, broom finish and picture framing
Common tools used are joiners, edging tools, saws, concrete rakes and trowels
Applying sealing and hardening components
Inspect subordinate’s work for compliance and/or deficiencies
Complete work safely, with quality and within productivity specifications as directed by the foreman or superintendent
Working conditions include digging with shovels, spreading concrete with rakes, lifting and placing heavy materials, working at height, starting at early hours and working outdoors
